Kids Can Make It Better Winter Day Camp
Winter sessions of Kids Can Make It Better Day Camp was conducted from January 27th to 31st. During these 5 days 25 pre-selected middle school students had an opportunity to learn about different topics which they are not exposed to at school. Each day of the camp participants learned about a new topic taught by our FLEX alumni. Camp sessions included the following topics: Leadership, Teamwork, Gender Equality, Debating and Environmental Protection. Last 5th day, children went to a field trip to YARAT Contemporary Art Center where they were introduced to the distinguished art pieces and had a fun game that taught them how to analyze art works.
Alumni Movie Night
On January 28th a group of FLEX alumni gathered together at “Apartment 9” anti café for a movie night. Alumni watched the movie “Due Date”.
Tolerance and Diversity event by Kamran Latifov’12
On February 4th Kamran Latifov’12 organized an event celebrating cultural diversity. He invited a quest speaker- professor from the ADA university Glenn Varona who talked about the cultural differences between Azerbaijan and her home country-Australia. The speaker session was followed by a Q&A session and then the participants and organizers enjoyed some snacks while socializing with each other. 20 people participated at the event.
Turan Aghabayli’s’13 Book Club
Every Sunday Turan Aghabayli’13 leads a book club for CCC (Competitive College Club) members at Caspian Business Center in Baku. They read and discuss various interesting books and shared their thoughts and ideas with each other.
Conversation Club by Kamran Latifov FLEX’12: Every Sunday from 14:00-16:00
Kamran Latifov is leading his own Conversation Club on Sundays from 14:00-16:00. His sessions are interesting and enriched with a variety of group activities and games. Anyone who would like to improve their English skills is welcome to join.
